Job Description:
JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for placing and delivering all orders to the kitchen and ensuring special instructions are followed. Serves all meals to the guests that visit this country themed bar and grill in a professional manner. Responsible for preparing and presenting the guest checks. Responsible for knowing the food menu and beverage lists. Serves as a liaison between the kitchen ensuring that all instructions and requests of the kitchen and guest are fulfilled.
QUALIFICATIONS: Food server or large tray food serving experience preferred. Hotel restaurant experience would be a plus. Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills . Ability to lift and carry approximately 35-40 pounds using a 27 inch oval tray. Ability to move throughout there assigned station during their shift. Must be able to cooperate with co-workers and function in a team atmosphere. Must be able to initiate and engage in conversation in a professional and friendly manner. Must present a professional and pleasant appearance that guests will find appealing and approachable in order to engage in conversation.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Reports to manager or hostess to receive table setup instructions and any station changes. Ensure that assigned tables are set and that service area is stocked. Greets guests by their name when known and makes them feel welcome and special, and presents menu. Takes orders and any special requests, communicating the order to kitchen by use of register. Ensures that all unneeded setups are cleared away in a timely manner, will assist if necessary. Assists in service and delivery of all food in a timely manner-ladies first and from the left (food) and right (beverages) moving in a clockwise rotation around the table. Makes sure that the check is presented correctly to the guest in a neat, clean check presenter. Fills all credit card slips for approval. Complete knowledge of menu and prices. Must be able to perform periodic choreographed songs and/or routines with high energy, excitement and stage presence. Maintains a clean work environment to health code standards. Wears proper attire in a neatly groomed fashion according to Toby Keith’s “I Love this Bar and Grill” standards. Controls flow of service. Ensures breakdown of station at end of shift along with daily cleaning tasks. Complete training on knowledge of available wines, liquors and beers. Takes responsibility for handling guests complaints to resolution with/without management assistance. Enters all orders into computer system. Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental, and company policy as management may direct. Knowledge of hotel operating hours and it’s outlets and basic hotel history.
Qualifications:
Physical, Mental, and Environmental Demands: Must be able to continuously maneuver in and around throughout the restaurant. Must be able to work in a fast paced environment. Must be able to lift, bend, stoop, twist, kneel, crouch, push, and pull when necessary. Must be able to handle more than one function at a time by being well organized and attentive to details. Must fully understand standards of position as management may direct. Must be able to tolerate hot temperatures in kitchen areas.
