Oversees the operations of Maintenance and Grounds. Delegates work assignments for all shifts. Supervises the work record, appraisal and development plan for Lead Mechanics. Inspects individual employee performance against standards to ensure CASH for guests and excellent working environment for employees. Completes projects as assigned by the Facilities Manager.

* Responsible for interviewing, training, and selecting employees for the department
* Conduct Performance Reviews in accordance with policies and procedures; provide feedback; coaching and development guidance as needed.
* Review, analyze and make recommendations with respect to wage increases; promotions; or demotions as needed.
* Respond to and handle employee complaints (grievances) in a timely and efficient manner.
* Recommend or take appropriate action when administering disciplinary processes in accordance with established policies and procedures.
* Responsible for planning, supervising and monitoring the work of the team members in assigned area(s).
* Responsible for monitoring legal compliance with federal, state and gaming laws.
* Actively promotes input from co-workers and department users on labor saving, safety and dollar saving innovations.
* Assists Manager in the writing and implementation of operating plans and budgets for Maintenance and Grounds.
* Reviews monthly profit and loss statements and assists Manager in writing variance reports.
* Responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, upkeep and maintenance of all company buildings and grounds.
* Conducts daily tours of all work areas and public areas, identifying and correcting any deficiencies.
* Coordinates shift activities of assigned areas to support goals and objectives of other departments in the casino.
* Oversees daily shift log indicating, but not limited to, employee incidents and irregularities that may arise (mechanical shutdowns, emergencies and alarms) and information necessary to the successful conduct of subsequent shifts.
* Oversees preventive maintenance and work order processes for the department.
* Ensures compliance with all safety standards and codes.
* Supervises emergency procedures and monitors emergency equipment when needed.
* Assists in the operation of the fire command station when necessary.
* Supervises the purchases of department supplies under company guidelines.
* Conducts appraisals and sets development plans of Shift Supervisors.
* Supervises the hiring and training of all department employees.
* Presents oneself as a credit to Harrah’s and encourages others to do the same.
High school diploma required. Five years supervisory or management experience required, preferably in casino engineering. Successful completion of the Supervisor Leadership Assessment Program (SuperLAP) is required. Journeyman or equivalent in at least one trade for a minimum of five years or good working knowledge or more than one technical field required. HVAC & R experience preferred. Scheduling, managerial and administrative, computer skill experience strongly preferred. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. Must be able to get along with co-workers and develop teamwork.
Must be able to maneuver to all areas of the casino. Must be able to stand, stoop, bend, lie on back and ascend/descend ladders in normal execution of duties. Must be able to push and lift weight of up to 100 pounds. Must be able to see small objects in poorly lit areas. Must possess coordination and dexterity to work with hand and power tools. Must be able to work in areas containing high noise levels, dust and secondary smoke. Must be able to work at a fast pace and in stressful situations. Must be able to respond to visual, olfactory and aural cues.
