POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for the maintenance projects as assigned by the Facilities/EVS Manager. Assist with the supervision of the Facilities Department for the daily operation of the vessel.

Job Description:
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Performs daily tasks and assignments as assigned by the Facilities Captain and Facilities/EVS Manager.
* Performs United States Coast Guard required drills as instructed by the Facilities/EVS Manager.
* Responsible for the overall condition of the vessel and support facilities.
* Ensures that operations are working within the parameters of the annual budget.
* Responsible for Facilities project management and follow-up, including job assignments, processing work requests and proper documentation.
* Ensure all work request are kept organized in the designated Maintenance program.
* Plans to ensure that all projects involving fabricating, installing, repairing and maintaining in the facilities maintenance program are assigned to workers and that each is completed with proper paperwork to ensure continuous operations in all buildings and mechanical facilities.
* Oversees the general maintenance projects on the interior and exterior of the Casino and support facilities and conducts follow-up on all projects.
* Ensures that all Facilities employees are treated fairly and properly in matters concerning company policies and federal and state laws.
* Conducts disciplinary counseling sessions with employees, as well as maintain the ongoing development and training of employees toward the growth of the company.
* Enforces all rules, regulations and laws mandated by the United States Coast Guard, State Fire Marshall and other applicable agencies.
* Assures exceptional customer service to all patrons by communicating in a pleasant, friendly and professional manner at all times.
* Treat others with courtesy and respect.

* Demonstrate proper use of PPE (glasses, gloves, belts).
* Must assist patrons in answering questions and directing them to areas of safety during emergencies as directed by management, security, or marine crew members.
* Must attend OSHA and related safety training.
* Return equipment to proper location, in proper working condition, properly emptied of solutions, cleaned and ready for next use.
* Demonstrate proper equipment usage according to department standards.
* Customer concerns in the employee’s area of responsibility are handled immediately and reported to the supervisor for follow up.
* Must adhere to all company/departmental polices and procedures. Must be aware and adhere to internal control rules.

Qualifications:

* Work in different areas of casino under varying conditions of heat, cold, illumination and air quality.
* Tolerate presence and/or use of chemicals, cleansers and solvents.

* Climb steps repeatedly.

MENTAL - Must be able to:
* Understand and comply with Policies and Procedures, Job Description, daily memorandums and other instructions.
* Must be able to work under stressful conditions.

PREREQUISITES/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred. Chief Engineer limited near coastal (3000 horsepower minimum). Minimum of seven years experience in marine engineering. Maintenance experience and Casino experience are helpful; must possess good communication and organizational skills and the ability to work well with others. Be able to work in a fast paced environment, and able to work in stressful and busy situations without impact on our service standards.

GAMING:
Must have the ability to hold an Occupational License as required by the Illinois Gaming Board.
