Job Description:
Responsible for generating top line revenue for Harrah’s and Horseshoe Council Bluffs by developing new accounts and maintaining existing accounts in the Corporate market (hotel room sales and business/convention meeting room sales). Develops and maintains aggressive prospecting effort for new business in all areas. Conducts sales calls, obtains orders and secures contracts with key accounts or major prospects. Promotes property and company opportunities through personal involvement in community organizations, industry trade shows, and promotional functions. Solicits group, tour and convention business, follows up on leads, creates proposals and negotiates contracts. Quotes rates, negotiates agreements and terms of functions. Commits facilities and verifies reservations as required. Speaks before various groups and organizations to explain and promote property facilities including giving tours of property facilities. Maintains communications and rapport with group guests and representatives to ensure guest satisfaction with an upbeat and positive attitude. Ensures regulatory, internal controls and policy and procedure compliance. Acts as a role model to other employees and always presents oneself as a credit to Company and encourages others to do the same and leads with passion and vision.

Qualifications:
College degree preferred with minimum 3 years of sales experience. Knowledge of creating proposals and quotes, contract negotiation and the tour and convention business required. Proven accountability when working with confidential information. Ability to use a personal computer and appropriate software (Excel, Word, Power Point, Access and Microsoft Outlook). Working knowledge of Delphi, Meeting Matrix, and AS/400 preferred. Good oral and written communication skills, must be fluent and literate in English. Ability to respond calmly and make rational decisions in stressful situations with co-workers, guests and vendors. Must possess excellent interpersonal with a proven track record of personally providing excellent customer service to external and internal guests. Physically mobile with reasonable accommodations including ability to lift up to 50 lbs., and tolerate areas of high temperature in excess of 115 degrees and ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when stocking, storing and maneuvering around work area. Ability to stand and walk for entire shift and mobility to move easily around entire property. Must be able to listen and respond to visual and aural cues. Must be able to tolerate areas containing second hand smoke, varying noise and temperature levels, illumination, vibration, crowds, and air quality. Up to 5 % travel required.

Measurable objectives as defined on annual Performance appraisal. Teamwork – ability to work collaboratively with other departments and leaders to complete property/corporate initiatives and effective day to day operations. Guest feedback through comment cards, letters. Financial results that meet or exceed budget expectations for revenue generation and cost control. Ability to meet deadlines and effectively manage multiple priorities in a demanding work environment.
