Job Description:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTION:
* Helps define requests for support from other marketing areas especially direct marketing.
* Develops recommendations for direct marketing tools that improve marketing efficiencies and effectiveness.
* Executes cross-property list requests.
* Assists on cross-brand data-mining projects to support ad hoc Marketing analytics.
* Serves as liaison between Direct Marketing and other areas of Marketing on data mining and database analytics.
* Serves as liaison between Marketing and IT on issues related to data mining and database integrity.
* Ad hoc analytics.
* Assists colleagues in Marketing in solving key business questions as they emerge.
* Manages analysis from inception to completion, developing actionable recommendations.
* Provides pre-campaign analytical support for property marketing efforts.
* Provides post-campaign analytical support for all direct marketing programs.
* Supports tests of new marketing technology, especially segmentations.
* Assists in hiring additional staff as necessary.
* Coaches and helps train more junior team members.
Qualifications:
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelors degree required, Masters preferred.
* Minimum of 2 years work experience in marketing analysis required.
* Strong organizational and facilitating skills. Detail oriented.
* Ability to develop and maintain detailed project plans and ensure completion of associated tasks.
* Must respond quickly and effectively to changing business environment.
* Understanding of Marketing systems and database architecture.
* Ideally, has previous exposure to Harrah's databases and tools.
* Ability to read, analyze and interpret financial reports.
* Ability to accept ambiguous circumstances and take action where answers to a problem are not readily apparent.
* Outstanding organizational skills are a must, as is the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
* A team player with extremely strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills. Strong PC skills and proficiency in Office 2000 products.
* Previous technical experience with database query software, relational databases, table definitions, and SQL.
* Strong logic skills including an understanding of how to construct a query using arbitrary Boolean expressions.
* Cognos Impromptu proficiency ideal but not required.
* Ability to generate ad-hoc reports from detailed information.

* Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
* Must be able to respond calmly and make rational decision when handling customer needs and concerns.
* Must be able to work in areas containing a noisy environment.
* Ability to stand and walk for entire shift and mobility to move easily around entire property.
