Job Description:
GENERAL SUMMARY The primary responsibility of the Host(ess)/Cashier is to accurately handle cash register transactions and ensure guests are greeted cheerfully and seated in a timely manner. They also serve as the restaurant’s first and last impression and must make sure guests thoroughly enjoy their dining experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Greet customers in prompt and courteous manner and thank them upon departure.
* Determine the number in a party, accurately post transaction on cash register, and make appropriate change.
* Seat as quickly as possible. If there is a waiting period, ensure guest has maximum comfort at all times.
* Properly rotate server stations when seating guests (requires knowledge of server abilities).
* Assist service staff in making certain tables are cleared and cleaned after each use and are set properly. Make sure all areas are clean and free of debris.
* Fill condiments as needed.
* Answer telephones using proper phone etiquette as described in Rio standards
* Count out cash drawer at end of shift.
