Horseshoe Southern Indiana is owned and operated by Harrah's Entertainment. As the world's largest riverboat casino with over 90,000 sf of gaming action, we're located just 20 minutes from downtown Louisville, Kentucky and situated in Elizabeth, Indiana (Harrison County). The property is just 10 minutes south of New Albany, Indiana on Hwy 111.
Job Description:
Job Summary: This position recruits, screens and interviews job applicants to fill existing company job openings. Also, the position coordinates and facilitates brand training, educational assistance, and property-specific training classes.
Works as part of a team with little direct supervision and is responsible for the maintenance, integrity and confidentiality of all training records.
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. Four-year college degree in education, training, human resources or related field preferred. A minimum of 1-2 years experience as a recruiter or in employment administration and/or training and development required. Excellent oral and written communication skills required, as well as the ability to facilitate and instruct. Must possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills, as well as the ability to handle multiple assignments in a fast paced environment. Must have the ability to logically and independently plan and complete work. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suites, have a professional appearance and be a team player.
Essential Functions:
* Identifies attributes of high potential employees through behavior based/structured interviews.
* Partners with assigned client groups to understand their operation, staffing needs, and essential functions of open positions.
* Contacts and develops relationships with educational institutions, local and state agencies, and other organizations that will assist in identifying new applicants.
* Participates in and helps coordinate job fairs to attract new employees.
* Corresponds with job applicants to notify them of employment consideration.
* Files and maintains employment record for future references.
* Post open positions to applicant tracking system, various job boards, and local colleges and universities.
* Extends offers of employment and conducts drug testing and background checks on candidates accepting employment.
* Schedules, instructs and administers necessary assessments for all internal and external candidates, such as SuperLAP and ManagerLAP.
* Assists with employment processes as necessary and requested.
* Coordinates and facilitates brand training and other property specific classes.
* Ensures brand standard training and certification requirements are being met and are current.
* Assists with train-the-trainer preparation and instruction.
* Develops course curriculum and related training materials.
* Monitors instructor performance providing coaching and development opportunities.
* Works on special projects as assigned.
* Assists with budget records and helps control department costs.
* Oversees the production and distribution of monthly training calendar ensuring a trainer for each class has been scheduled.
* Oversees the training data entry for accuracy and timeliness and assists as needed.
* Prepares training reports.
* Serves as liaison to balance needs to department and property with standard training requirements.
* Provides excellent internal and external customer service modeling company customer service skills/behaviors.
* Acts as a role model and presents oneself as a credit to Harrah’s and encourages others to do the same.
* Adheres to all departments/company policies and procedures.
* Support other Human Resources functions as needed
Qualifications:
Physical, Mental and Environmental Demands:
* Must be able to work independently.
* Must be able to stand for long periods of time (minimum of three-four hours).
* Must be fluent and literate in English.
* Must be able to maneuver throughout all areas of the casino; from floor to floor either by stairways (minimum of 20 steps) or escalator.
* Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 20 lbs.
* Must be able to stoop, kneel, bend, twist, turn, push, pull, grasp objects and the manual dexterity to operate a computer and other necessary office equipment.
* Responds to visual and aural cues.
* Must be able to tolerate areas containing second hand smoke, dust, loud noises and bright lights.
* Must be able to work varied shifts, weekends and holidays as needed.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must qualify for, obtain, and maintain a gaming license from the Indiana Gaming Commission.
