Job Description:
Responsible for the successful development, launch and continued execution of sales plans. Seeking seasoned sales manager for the Alabama market to sell Meetings, Conventions, and Social Events for Harrah's Tunica! Develops and solicits business to ensure the necessary advance bookings needed for a profitable operation for hotels, banquet facilities and casinos at Harrah's Tunica, Horseshoe Tunica and Sheraton Tunica.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Responsible for strategic sales planning, implementation and tracking. Develop sales-related project packages or programs to generate business.

Develop new accounts and service existing accounts to drive business results. Solicit business from all markets focusing on rate, date and space commitments for group room sales within the hotel and banquet facilities. Seek business that positively impacts the casinos, hotels, spa, convention center, golf and banquet facilities. Develop and conduct persuasive verbal sales presentations to prospective clients. Meet with and entertain clients. Handles account details so that all pertinent aspects of solicitation and closing are complete and documented. Coordinates various departments’ participation in servicing accounts. Work jointly with the Hotel and Food and Beverage departments to achieve maximum yield. Handle group customer complaints and comments; follow up with appropriate department response back to guest. Coordinate ongoing research of the travel industry to detect market trends and related information for development of new marketing strategies. Make reasonable recommendations to improve potential from various markets. Maintain a working knowledge of marketing principles and market segments, in order to assist in establishing selling strategies to meet the marketing needs of the Hotel, Casino, Catering, and all facilities. Maintain compliance with internal control submissions and department policy and procedure. Ensure customer service standards are met at all times. Serve as a role model to all employees at all times. Other duties as assigned.

This position will be eligible for incentive bonuses.

Qualifications:
ADDITIONAL DUTIES/JOB DIMENSIONS:
Work any necessary hours and various schedules as business demands. Regular attendance and uniform appearance in conformance with the standards which are essential to the successful performance of this position. Sales Managers are required to fully comply with Harrah’s policies and procedures for the safe and efficient operation of company facilities. Employees who violate company policies and procedures are subject to disciplinary action up to and including suspension or termination of employment.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Two year college degree in Marketing or Business Administration Required. B.S./B.A degree; Marketing or Business Administration preferred. Three years experience in hospitality and/or related field, with at least minimun two years sales-related marketing tactics. Demonstrated track record of sales. Qualified candidates must have excellent analytical, problem-solving, critical thinking and decision making skills. Excellent communication skills (oral and written), coaching and leadership skills required. Must have a professional appearance and be a team player. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
