This position will report to the President’s Associate in Benefits. It will work closely with the entire corporate Benefits team and HR Leadership across Harrah’s properties including physically in Las Vegas in support of initiatives related specifically to enhancing Harrah’s medical plan.
Harrah’s medical plan is available to all salaried employees and to hourly employees after they have worked a certain amount of time at the Company, depending on location of employment. Harrah’s covers over 35,000 employees and over 65,000 covered lives (including employees and their dependents). Harrah’s strives to offer exceptional quality, affordable health care. With escalating health care costs, Harrah’s is taking a Wellness approach to both improve the quality of lives of its employees and to control costs that are associated with health problems. This position will focus on implementing strategies designed to enhance the Wellness platform at Harrah’s. It is a 12-13 month position, available until the end of 2010. In the fall of 2010, it will be evaluated whether it is necessary to maintain the position into 2011.
Responsibilities include:
Project management – Wellness initiatives
* Assist in researching Wellness initiatives, programs and best practices to inform Harrah’s Wellness strategy
* Assist in developing or managing the development of communications and presentations to communicate new Wellness strategies to HR Leadership and employees across the Company
* Develop, maintain, and track against project plans for Wellness project initiatives
* Track and manage vendor project activities and deliverables to help ensure timely and quality delivery of vendor assignments
* Assist the HR teams at project sites in Las Vegas in executing corporate Wellness initiatives (i.e. at Harrah’s corporate offices and casino properties)
* Measure projects’ successes using metrics the Director and the Project Specialist define together

Qualifications:
* Preferred 3+ years project management experience
* Evidence of learning quickly and ability to build on existing business foundations
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc)
* Interest and passion in health and wellness
* Exceptional reporting skills
* Exceptional communication skills
* Bachelor’s degree required – concentration in Management or Human Resources a plus
* Ability to administer and coordinate across multiple tasks and deadlines
* Professionalism and ability to maintain strict confidentiality of company and employee information
