Job Description:
Essential job functions include:
This position is responsible for providing superior service to Harrah’s guests by seeking out guest interactions, maintaining highly visible patrols to ensure a safe gaming experience and by assuring support to other departments so that they may serve guests more effectively.
* Proactively seeks opportunities to surprise and delight guests while walk patrolling the property.
* Maintains an upbeat and positive attitude during all interactions.
* Approaches a line when there are more than three (3) guests in any line on property and initiates a friendly greeting while smiling and making eye-contact. Uses ice-breakers as designated and provided by the department.
* May be assigned to greet/find Diamond Customers at key touch points – Hotel Check-In, Diamond Lounge, Events, Diamond Area of Buffet, Diamond Lines, High Limit Casino, train station and airport for some special events.
* Assists guests by giving directions and answering questions in a friendly and courteous manner.
* Assist injured guests and applies first aid as necessary until professional medical help arrives.
* Check identification of guests to insure that only those 21 years of age and older are allowed in gaming areas.
* Patrols, monitors and observes the casino and parking lot for disturbances, crimes, fire hazards, and undesirable persons.
* Escorts employees with moneys.
* Completes security-related reports as assigned.
* Reports all fire and safety hazards to supervisor.
* Stays current on Harrah’s and Security Department policies and procedures.
* Completes continual departmental training as required.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for this position will have the following qualifications:
EDUCATION:
High School Graduate or equivalent preferred
EXPERIENCE:
Previous law enforcement and/or medical background helpful
ABILITIES:
* Literate and fluent in English, both written and verbal.
* Near and far visual acuity, depth perception, color vision, a full field of vision.
* Spatial, form, and clerical perception; the ability to constantly synthesize, coordinate, analyze, compile, compute, copy, and/or compare information.
* Ability to listen to and understand information and/or ideas presented through spoken words and sentences over the telephone, 2-way radio and in person.
* Ability to distinguish between normal routine sounds and sounds indicating impending, improper or unacceptable behavior/situations such as altercations, fights, assaults, accidents, injuries, life safety emergencies, etc.
* Physically able to move quickly in response to emergency situations.
* Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling up to 50 lbs.
* Agility, to include occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, twisting and turning.
* Dexterity, constant reaching, handling, working with fingers, and hand coordination.
* Ability to operate security related computer programs.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to complete accurate security reports on the computer.
* Ability to deal with violent situations by verbally defusing them or by physical restraint.
* Ability to work in a “smoke filled” environment.
* Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
* Ability to write for extended periods of time.
* Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of times.
* Ability to work indoors or outdoors in all seasons, including unusually hot, cold, noisy, smoky, and/or dimly lit areas.
* Constant contact with staff and guests during emergency and non-emergency conditions.
* Proximity to moving mechanical parts may be required.
